Force Wipe
Previous Top Next

Running a force wipe on a file will basically make XL Delete ignore any other process that has the file open and wipe the file.  This method can be used for wiping "index.dat" files or other files that may need to be wiped but are being used by another program.

To force wipe a file:
Choose "Force Wipe" from the Tools menu.
OR
Choose the "Force Wipe" icon from the toolbar.

Then simply browse for the file to force wipe.

NOTE: Not every file can be force wiped.  This feature was designed for Index.dat files and other files that are not being accessed exclusively.  System files and other files being used by Windows or exclusively by other programs can not be force wiped.
