XL Delete's task system allows you to automate all of the XL Delete features and can be triggered manually or scheduled to run at specific times.

The tasks dialog allows you to add, edit, delete, and schedule tasks.

Pressing on the add task button will open up the define task dialog where you can specify what you want your task to do:

The first thing you need to do is specify a name for your task and the wipe method to use.  You can then choose files/folders to delete, cleaner options to run, and/or choose to run a free space wipe or purge file table on a specific drive.

There are also a couple of options that you can specify:

Ignore Failed Files - This option will ignore any files that failed to delete.

Suppress Warnings Dialog - This option will suppress any warning dialogs including the verify dialog.  You should specify this option for any automated task.

Suppress All Dialogs - This option will hide all XL Delete dialogs while the task runs.

Automatically Close Dialogs - This option will close the delete dialog if any files/folder were specified to delete.  Leave it unchecked if you want to view the delete log after a task runs.

Once you specify a task it will show up in the main Tasks dialog.  You can press the Edit Schedule button to open the schedule dialog and have the task run at a specific time:

This dialog works the same way as the Windows task scheduler.  You can specify daily, weekly, and monthly schedules or choose to run the task when you log into the computer.
