The XL File Server is a personal file server based on HTTP. It will allow anyone with a computer and an Internet connection to set up their own personal server which they can access from any location with any web browser. The XL File Server will allow users to choose which files to share, create user accounts for friends, family, or employees, restrict access to specific IP's, and much more. With the XL File Server, users will no longer need to upload files that they want to access over the Internet to any online service, they can host their own files from their own computers. It is a perfect solution for people who are interested in having their files available online through a secure portal and is easier to set up and use than an FTP server. Accessing the files only requires you to log in via a customizable webpage which shows the files that can be downloaded with the same web browser.

The XL File Server will come in two versions: Personal and Professional. The personal edition will be geared towards casual users who need a simple file sharing solution. We want to make this version an affordable and simple alternative to having to pay to have your files hosted online or setting up an FTP server. The professional version will target power user and small businesses by providing advanced features such as user groups, enhanced security features such as IP blocking and IP range access, enhanced server monitoring, doubling as a basic web server to host your own website with limited support for PHP, and much more. Development continues on the XL File Server and it is expected to be released late 2nd or early 3rd quarter. The price is estimated to be $15 for the Personal edition and $30 or $40 for the professional edition. Please note that the prices are early estimates and are subject to change.
