XL Screen Streamer has a built-in port forwarding feature that can automatically map the necessary ports on your router to allow others to connect to your streaming server. The port forwarding feature relies on the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) technology found in most routers. Your router must support this feature and it must be enabled in order for this feature to work. Make sure you enable this option in the Web Stream Settings.

For more control over your port mapping we suggest using UPnP Wizard which can be downloaded for free from our website.

If the port forwarding feature fails to create a port mapping, you will need to configure your router manually. Please consult the owners manual for instructions on how to map a port on your specific router, you want to map the port that you specified in the settings dialog. Alternatively you can browse http://www.portforward.com/ to see if there is a guide for your router.
